Calboral-DX contains Calcium carbonate and Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) and is used to prevent and treat calcium deficiency, osteoporosis, osteomalacia, rickets, and hypoparathyroidism. It is important for patients taking this medication to monitor their plasma levels of calcium regularly to avoid hypercalcemia.
While Calboral-DX can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding, it is advisable to consult a doctor before taking it. The doctor can provide guidance on the appropriate dosage to prevent hypercalcemia and minimize any potential harm to the baby.
There are certain conditions in which Calboral-DX is not recommended. These include hypervitaminosis D (increased levels of vitamin D in the blood), kidney stones, and diseases that increase calcium levels in the blood and urine (such as hyperparathyroidism). It is important to discuss your medical history with your doctor to determine if this medication is suitable for you.
Calboral-DX should be used with caution in patients with sarcoidosis, immobilized patients with osteoporosis, malignancies, and impaired renal function. These conditions may require careful monitoring and adjustment of the dosage.
Common side effects of Calboral-DX include nausea, vomiting, constipation, excess gas, dry mouth, loss of appetite, and acid reflux. If any of these side effects worsen, it is recommended to consult your doctor.
It is recommended to restrict alcohol consumption while taking Calboral-DX as alcohol can interfere with the absorption of calcium.
Calboral-DX can be used during pregnancy, but it is important to consult your doctor for the appropriate dosage. Overdosing on Calboral-DX during pregnancy can potentially harm the baby's physical and mental health, cause retinal diseases, and lead to supra valvular aortic stenosis (a heart defect).
Calboral-DX can be used during breastfeeding. It may pass through breast milk, hence it should be considered while taking this medicine. Consult your doctor before taking Calboral-DX.
Calboral-DX Tablet is usually safe and does not interact with your driving ability.
Calboral-DX is not recommended to be taken for patients diagnosed with kidney stones, increased levels of calcium in urine or blood, and severe kidney impairment. Calboral-DX should be taken with caution in patients with impaired renal function. Consult your doctor before taking Calboral-DX.
Calboral-DX can be used in patients with liver impairment with no dose adjustments. Consult your doctor before taking Calboral-DX.
Osteoporosis, Osteomalacia (Rickets), Vitamin D deficiency, Hypoparathyroidism, and Latent tetany.
Calboral-DX consists of Calcium (mineral) and Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3). Calcium is a mineral that is used to prevent or treat a calcium deficiency. It provides essential nutrients to maintain bone formation and maintenance. Cholecalciferol helps maintain blood calcium and phosphorus levels and mineralization of bone.
Flatulence, diarrhea, constipation, upper gastrointestinal discomfort, etc. They are rare manifestations. Hypercalcemia caused by long-term use is rarely reported.
Calboral-DX Tablet contains calcium and vitamin D3 (also known as cholecalciferol/cholecalciferol). Calboral-DX Tablet is used to prevent and treat:
Calcium: Calcium is one of the most profuse minerals in the body which is essential for critical metabolic functions. Most prominently, it is required for building and maintaining healthy bones and teeth. It plays a crucial role in nerve transmission, muscle function, cellular signaling, and hormone secretion.
Vitamin D3: Vitamin D3 plays a very crucial role in the absorption of calcium and phosphorous from the intestine, which is critical for the formation, growth, and regeneration of bones. It supports healthy bones and teeth. It also plays a role in cell growth, neuromuscular and immune function, and reduction of inflammation.
This is a preparation of calcium and vitamin D3, where calcium carbonate is obtained from coral sources. The chemical structure of coral calcium carbonate is very similar to the composition of human bones. Coral calcium is similar to other sources, but it ensures better absorption. Vitamin D3 helps to absorb calcium from the gastrointestinal tract and helps maintain calcium balance in the body.
One tablet once or twice daily with plenty of water or as directed by the physician. Taking in a full stomach ensures better absorption. Do not consume it more than that recommended.
When hypercalcemia occurs, discontinuation of the drug is usually sufficient to normalize serum calcium levels. Patients with sarcoidosis, kidney or heart disease, and those receiving cardiac glycoside therapy should use calcium with caution. Patients with a history of stone formation should also be advised to increase their fluid intake.
Hypercalcemia, hyperparathyroidism, bone metastasis, severe kidney failure, severe hypercalciuria, kidney stones caused by hypersensitivity to any ingredient, vitamin D3 overdose.
This can be given to pregnant and breastfeeding mothers on the advice of a doctor.
